Il Bardolino Freddo 2025
Il Bardolino Freddo: three days of summer and wine
At the end of August, Bardolino comes alive with the cool charm of the event ‘Il Bardolino Freddo’, scheduled from 29 to 31 August 2025 along the picturesque lakefront and in the heart of the historic centre.
The event, a new addition to the local food and wine scene, is supported by the Municipality of Bardolino and the Bardolino Top Foundation, with the enthusiastic participation of numerous local wineries.
Tastings to the rhythm of music and art
For three evenings (Friday 29 and Saturday 30) and the whole day on Sunday 31, the lakefront becomes an “open-air lounge” where:
• Local wineries offer tastings of Bardolino served cold, encouraging a summery and refreshing interpretation of the classic red wine.
• Gourmet food trucks will satisfy the palate with gastronomic offerings that pair well with the tastings.
• The lakeside promenade offers moments of relaxation among exhibitions of crafts and paintings displayed along the lakefront.
A unique opportunity for Bardolino Rosso
The event is a unique opportunity to rediscover Bardolino Rosso in a new light, immersed in the beauty of our lake, accompanied by high-quality art and music. The Bardolino Top Foundation emphasises the importance of offering a DOC red wine in a summer setting, demonstrating its versatility.
Bardolino Classico: DOC tradition in a glass
Finally, a brief mention of Bardolino Classico, one of the most established and traditional versions of the famous wine from the area:
• It is a Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) wine that can only use the word “Classico” if produced in the historic area near the lake — namely in the municipalities of Bardolino, Garda, Lazise, Affi, Costermano and Cavaion Veronese.
• From an organoleptic point of view, it has a light ruby colour, often with cherry or garnet hues, accompanied by a delicate, vinous aroma.
• On the palate, it is distinguished by a dry, savoury and harmonious taste, slightly bitter and sometimes with a slight fizziness.
A simple but refined wine, perfect for enjoying both as a table wine and as an aperitif — and there is nothing to stop the more creative producers from interpreting it in the “cold” version proposed by the event!
In short, “Il Bardolino Freddo” is a multi-sensory experience combining taste, art and music, which showcases Bardolino and its traditional wine in a summery and innovative way. And if you love Bardolino Classico, this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy it in a new light.
