Palio del Bardolino freddo 2026
From August 28 to 30, 2026, Bardolino will host the third edition of Bardolino Freddo, an event celebrating one of the most interesting trends in the Lake Garda wine scene: tasting Bardolino DOC served chilled to highlight its elegance, fragrance, and extraordinary drinkability.
Following the success of the first two editions, the event returns to Bardolino’s lakefront with three days dedicated to wine, gastronomy, music, and exploring the region, offering residents and tourists an experience that blends tradition and innovation.
Where It Takes Place
The event unfolds in the heart of Bardolino, between the harbor, the lakefront promenade, and the historic center, giving visitors the chance to taste wines while strolling through one of Lake Garda’s most picturesque settings.
The atmosphere is made even more engaging by live music, art installations, exhibitors, and culinary offerings that showcase local specialties.
What is Bardolino Freddo?
Bardolino DOC has always been known as a light, fragrant red wine full of freshness. In recent years, many producers have begun serving it chilled, at a temperature between 10 and 12 °C, especially during the summer.
This serving method highlights:
• the liveliness of the aromas of cherry and small red berries;
• the pleasant natural acidity;
• the low tannin content;
• its great versatility in pairing with summer cuisine.
The festival was created precisely to showcase this new interpretation of Bardolino, without distorting its identity but rather highlighting its versatility.
Why Enjoy Bardolino Chilled
Serving Bardolino at a lower temperature than classic red wines allows you to fully appreciate its aromatic profile and natural appeal.
It is the ideal wine for:
• aperitifs;
• appetizers featuring cold cuts and cheeses;
• lake fish;
• Mediterranean cuisine;
• gourmet pizza;
• white meats;
Its freshness makes it one of the most versatile Italian reds to enjoy during the warmer months.
An opportunity to visit local wineries
Taking part in the Bardolino Freddo festival also means discovering the region where this unique wine is produced.
Many wineries open their doors to visitors, offering guided tastings, vineyard tours, and itineraries dedicated to exploring the Bardolino DOC appellation.
If you’re planning a weekend on Lake Garda, the festival is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a complete experience combining wine, scenery, and hospitality.
