The Chiaretto wine

Chiaretto is a rosé wine typical of the Lake Garda area. It stands out for its freshness and versatility, but especially for the round and harmonious taste that makes it similar to many palates.

The origin of this wine is pretty ancient, we talk about the XIX century when Pompeo Molmenti, lawyer and senator of the Kingdom of Italy began to make wine with a pretty innovative vinification technique. The skins of red grapes were left to macerate for a short time with the must, thus giving the wine its rosy color. This technique is still the basis of the traditional production of Chiaretto.

The grapes used are mainly Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, varieties typical of the area. The grapes are harvested early to preserve the natural acidity, after it is pressed and for a short period of time it usually stays in contact with the skins to extract color and aromas. The result is a wine with an intense and fruity aroma, with hints of peach, pink and purple flowers.

The Chiaretto is gaining popularity and popularity in both national and international trade. In fact, in recent years exports are increasing with a growing presence in European and North American markets. Its freshness and versatility make it attractive to a global audience looking for new and interesting wines.

Cantina Casetto offers it in the still version, but also as a brut sparkling wine, which is equally harmonious and fruity to the nose and with the right amount of flavor to taste.

Chiaretto is a very versatile wine in its combinations. It can be used as an aperitif, accompanied by light appetizers, cold cuts and fresh cheeses. It also goes well with fish, crudité and white meat. For us the perfect match of Chiaretto is the friendship!

From May 31st to June 2nd we are waiting for you in Bardolino for the Palio del Chiaretto at stand number 13.
